Jacy Wall

Jacy Wall has lived and worked in Somerset as an artist for twenty five years. She has a BA in Constructed Textiles, and is well known for her abstract woven tapestries.  She has been Printmaking since 1995, and has an MA in Printmaking from UWE Bristol. Jacy has exhibited her prints with, amongst others, Somerset Printmakers and with Fingerprint at many venues throughout the region. She has also exhibited them alongside her tapestries, most notably at Bridgwater Arts Centre in 2001, and as part of a three person show, 'Marks in Time' (with support from Arts Council of England) at the Black Swan in Frome in 2006. Her prints have strong connections with textiles, mainly sewing rather than weaving. Suggestions of thread, stitches, mending, patching, and darning appear in her work in one way or another.  For her this is about the fragility of our lives and what holds them together. But their abstract nature means that for the viewer they may evoke something altogether different.
